I love to knit! For several years, Patrick and I owned a yarn shop here in our little town. This page shows off some of my recent knitting project, hopefully with the yarn and patterns. Enjoy!
HALF MOON SHAWL
This is a gorgeous half-circle scarf that I finished in 2014. Unfortunately, I didn't record the pattern or the yarn, so I'm putting it here just as something pretty that I did. It's one of my favorite shawls.
HOODED BABY BLANKET
This little blanket and hood is made out of Peaches and Cream cotton yarn using Sweet Lullaby Seamless Hooded Blanket pattern (see Ravelry). It's easy to knit and adorable.
BLUE RIBBON SOCKS
I have no idea which pattern I used for these. I can't find it in my Ravelry queue or projects. I promise to be better about this in the future. The yarn is some gorgeous wool I picked up at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival in 2015. And, yes, I did win first prize for socks at the county fair this year. And they're so comfy!!!
EASTER "BASKETS"
For Easter this year I decided to knit bags instead of giving everyone baskets. I used the pattern "Entrelac Trinket Bag" by Mary Scott Huff, available for purchase on Ravelry. For four of the bags, I used the recommended Noro Kureyon yarn. For one bag, I used Cacade's Lana Bambu (I think it's discontinued), and for another I used some Berroco of some kind in a solid teal.

AUNT CHRIS' SOCKS
I made these socks for my Aunt for Christmas 2017. The pattern is Hermione's Everyday Socks and the yarn is from Eat, Sleep, Knit (and I don't still have the ball band - I'll have to get better about keeping records!).
MOM'S MALABRIGO SWEATER
Mom and I were at Eat, Sleep, Knit in Dallas, Georgia when she saw their sample sweater in this pattern. She asked me to make it for her and she bought the yarn and pattern book for me. It turned out just lovely! The pattern is Faro and the yarn is Malabrigo Twist.

DRAGONSCALE MITTS
There is a story behind these. Jenna, my daughter-in-law to-be, saw a pattern for "dragonscale mitts" that she liked but they were crochet. I told her I'd come up with something knitted. Well, there was no knitted version of the pattern because you simply can't make that kind of "scale" with knitting. And, believe me, I tried. Then, I found these aluminum scales. I generally don't like gimmicky knitting stuff. I was happy to sell all that scarf yarn several years ago, but I didn't like knitting it. Well, these scales aren't too much of a pain to work with and the effect they make is totally cool!! Unfortunately, the Postal Service ripped the package on its way to me, so I didn't have enough scales to do long gloves, but the short fingerless gloves are still cool. They go in the Fair this week and then to Jenna.

CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS
About 10 years ago, I made Christmas stockings for me and Patrick. For 2018, I made Christmas stockings for Lydia, Chris, Jenna and Noah. The pattern is from Mason-Dixon Knitting. This has been one of my favorite projects.
BOHEMIAN PONCHO
This pattern is called the Viking Poncho from Vogue Knitting magazine. Instead of buying Koigu yarn, I used leftovers of sock yarn which gives it an overall Bohemian look, I think.
HAMILTON HAT
I love this little beanie. The pattern is HamilKnit on Ravelry. I think the yarn is KnitPicks DK. It's not a difficult project is you know how to do colorwork. If you're new to color, it's a good beginners project.
SNOWFLAKE SCARF
This Adventskalendar pattern is from Ravelry. I got the yarn from the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival. It's a lovely merino and is wonderfully soft. And, yes, it did win a first place at the Waupaca County Fair!
JESI'S SHAWL
The pattern for this shawl is Byzantine Princess and can be found on Ravelry. I make it using SeaSilk from Handmaiden Yarns. There are beads knitted into the bottom of the shawl which gives it a very flowy feel (along with the silk). Jesi is getting married tomorrow and will wear this shawl!

WONDER BEANIE
This pattern is Wonder Beanie from Ravelry and I used KnitPicks Wool of the Andes worsted yarn. If I had to do it over again, I would use DK yarn. That being said, I made four of these and all four girls loved the hats!
ORNAMENTAL SOCKS
This pattern is Ornamental from Knitty and the yarn is a merino/cashmere blend that I got a Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival. I love these socks! They need to be worn with clogs because the cable runs around the back and looks very cool.
PICADILLY HAT
Since I got my hair cut short, I can't just put it in a ponytail when I have a bad hair day, so I made this Picadilly Hat (pattern from Ravelry) for days when I need to cover my hair but don't need to keep my head really warm. The yarn is KnitPicks Dishie.
JENNA'S WEDDING SHAWL 1
I made 2 wedding shawls for my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. The kids were supposed to get married in June, but they put it off for a year. Jenna couldn't decide on the yarn or pattern, so I made her two different shawls. This Yarn is Northbound Knitting and the pattern is The Velveteen Rabbit from Ravelry.
JENNA'S WEDDING SHAWL 2
This is the second wedding shawl I did for Jenna. She originally wanted navy yarn, so I ordered this Halcyon yarn, but it was backordered. I made the previous shawl first, but I made this shawl when the original yarn came in. Yarn is Halcyon. Pattern is Spruce Forest
CAT CAVE
Lydia has a new cat who likes his little hidey holes. Lydia sent me this pattern and asked me to make some cat caves, so I obliged. I think they're adorable! Pattern is Cat Cocoon on Ravelry. Yarn is Cascade 220.
